What is necessary to make Whipped Hot Chocolate?

  • Milk – I used whole milk, but you can also use milk with less fat. To make it more chocolatey, you can use chocolate milk, instead.
  • Instant hot chocolate mix – use any brand you prefer.
  • Whipping cream – I recommend not to use whipped topping.
  • Powdered sugar – add to wanted taste.

How to make Whipped Hot Chocolate?  

In a medium bowl add whipping cream and hot chocolate mix and beat until stiff peaks form. Then, place chocolate whipped cream into a piping bag or zip lock bag and snip the corner of the bag.  Next, heat the milk in a microwave oven, or a pan until it´s warm enough and then divide into two glasses and top with chocolate whipped cream.  As you can see- very quick and easy…You get rich chocolate creamy taste- perfection. You can use your imagination and decorate it with chocolate sprinkles, mini marshmallows, melted chocolate or crushed candy cane….

Tips and tricks:

Whipping cream needs to be cold and then you can beat it well.

The bowl in which you beat heavy whipping cream and instant hot chocolate mix has to be cold. Put it in the freezer for 10- 15 minutes, so that is properly chilled.  

Make sure not to over beat whipping cream, beat it only until the soft peaks form.  If you over beat it and stiff peaks form, it will be too heavy on the top of the milk in glass. Chocolate whipped cream is done when it becomes thick. If you can run a spoon through it and you have a little indent through the cream, it´s ready.

If you don´t have instant hot chocolate mix, unsweetened cocoa can be used, just add sugar to taste. In that case, I would suggest using 2 tablespoons cocoa powder for one cup of hot chocolate. It is better to use powdered sugar, then granulated. Start by adding 2 tablespoons for one cup and if the mixture isn´t sweet enough, just add one tablespoon of powdered sugar at a time until it´s sweet to your taste.

Is it necessary to use an electric mixer?

The answer is yes. I wouldn´t recommend using a whisk, because it´s much harder to beat cream that way. Can I make a cold version of this beverage? –  The answer is yes – just use cold milk and ice.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream, cold
  • 4 tablespoon Hot chocolate mix
  • 1 tablespoon Powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Start by beating whipping cream and hot chocolate mix, in medium bowl, first on low, then bump up to a high speed, until it thickens and soft peaks form.
  2. Place chocolate whipped cream into a piping bag or zip lock bag and snip the corner of the bag.
  3. Next, heat the milk in a microwave oven, or a pan until it´s warm enough,
    divide into two glasses and top with chocolate whipped cream.
  4. Use chocolate sprinkles, mini marshmallows, crushed candy cane, melted chocolate or cocoa to decorate.

Hi, I would like to try the cranberry pistachio fudge, could you please tell me the quantity of condensed milk in grams/ liter. I don’t understand what 1 14 means. You mean 114 ounces? Thank you

1 can or 14 ounces of sweetened condensed milk is about 414 milliliters or 396 grams.
