Easy Cheesy Ground Beef Quesadillas – you will love this easy dinner recipe, especially if you are a fan of Mexican comfort food. These tortillas filled with two types of melted cheese and juicy, minced meat filling, seasoned and fried in a frying pan are so quick and easy to prepare and their taste is amazing.

That’s why I often prepare Easy Cheesy Ground Beef Quesadillas and serve them with salsa, guacamole sauce or sour cream as a delicious weekend dinner.  As they are a real treat, my family loves its incredible taste. Luckily, they are quick and easy to prepare, because they are also quick to eat.  Do you like Mexican cuisine? What is your favorite Mexican dish? 

I believe you have already tried quesadillas if you like Mexican cuisine, but in case you haven´t tried preparing them yet, here is your chance. You will love preparing them as much as eating them. Many people would choose spicy Mexican food and I am one of them, so I am gladly sharing this recipe with you.

Half an hour of your time, a few simple ingredients and loooots of spices is all it takes to prepare Easy Cheesy Ground Beef Quesadillas.

Which ingredients are necessary to make Easy Cheesy Ground Beef Quesadillas? 

  • Flour tortillas
  • Shredded mozzarella  and cheddar cheese 
  • Ground beef
  • Salt
  • Garlic, chili and onion powder
  • Cumin
  • Dried oregano
  • Chopped fresh cilantro
  • Tomato sauce
  • Oil to grease pan 

How to prepare Easy Cheesy Ground Beef Quesadillas?  

Start by cooking ground beef, garlic powder, salt, onion powder, chili powder, cumin, dried oregano in a larger pan, at a medium temperature, for about 10 minutes, or until beef turns brown. Then, add tomato sauce and chopped fresh cilantro and continue cooking  for 5-7 minutes and then remove from heat. Next, spread shredded cheddar cheese and shredded mozzarella cheese over a 1/2 of a tortilla, then put ground beef filling over it, finishing with one more mozzarella and cheddar cheese layer. After that, fold tortilla in half and cook it in the non stick skillet. Two tortillas can be cooked at the same time, for about 2 minutes at each side. Quesadillas are done when both sides turn golden brown and cheese melts. Keep quesadillas in heated oven to keep them warm and serve with guacamole sauce, salsa or sour cream.

Easy Cheesy Ground Beef Quesadillas

Yield: 6 Quesadillas
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 25 minutes
Total Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 6 flour tortillas - 8 inch size
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 3/4 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/2 tbsp. cilantro chopped
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • oil to grease pan

Instructions

  1. First put olive oil in a larger pan and heat it at a medium temperature, add ground beef, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, cumin and dried oregano and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring with a wooden spatula to break meat into small pieces.
  2. Then, reduce the heat to minimum and add tomato sauce and chopped
    fresh cilantro, stir well and leave to simmer for 5 -7 min. 
  3. Next, spread 2 spoons of cheddar cheese and 2 spoons of mozzarella cheese over 1/2 of tortilla, put 1/6 of the ground beef and finish with 2 spoons of cheddar cheese and 2 spoons of mozzarella cheese. Fold tortilla in half, to get a semicircle.
  4. Repeat the same procedure until you use all the material. Finally, spray the
    non stick skillet with cooking spray and heat it at a medium temperature.
  5. Place two quesadillas in a non stick skillet and cook them for 2 minutes or until they turn golden brown and then turn them on the other side and cook for 2 more minutes or until cheese melts and tortilla turns golden brown. 
  6. Repeat the same procedure with the rest of the tortillas. If you want to
    keep them warm, place quesadillas in a baking pan and put in a slightly heated
    oven.
  7. Quesadillas are served warm with guacamole sauce, salsa or sour cream.

Notes

They can be kept in a fridge, in a hermetically sealed container, for 2-3 days.
