I remember being a little kid when my mum made these rolls for the first time. It was love at first bite. I still enjoy their taste, as much as I did back then, now with my son and my husband. They also love them.

I´ve tried many different kinds of rolls, but these are my number one. They are incredibly soft, covered with sesame seed and made with lots of love – you will enjoy every bite. What is great about them is that you can keep them in the freezer, baked and cooled.

They can easily be heated and still be soft and delicious.  My son really loves these rolls, and when I prepare them, he won´t eat anything else. However, I have to admit – my mum prepares them best.

How to make Mom’s Homemade Rolls?

In a large dish put flour. Add 2 eggs, oil, shortening, salt, sugar and apple cider vinegar. In a separate dish,   combine milk and yeast. Pour it in the dish with flour.  Knead until you get fine dough.   It shouldn’t be sticky. Cover the dish and leave to rest for an hour.  Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper. Set aside. Beat an egg and set aside. Preheat the oven to 375 F.  Take the dough out of the dish and divide into 3 pieces. Make 3 balls. Roll each ball using your hands, so to make it longer, to get the shape of French baguette bread.  They should be about 27 inch long. Cut each piece to 20 smaller pieces and now you will have 60 of them. Take one piece of dough and press it with your hand, then roll it with rolling pin until very thin, around  0.05 inch.  Roll it with your hand then, to make the roll. While doing this, try to make the rolls longer by rolling them forward and moving your hands to the right and left, at the same time. Place them in the baking sheet. Cover the rolls with beaten egg and sesame. Put a small piece of butter or margarine on each roll. Put in the oven and bake for 20-25 min. While the rolls are baking, repeat the procedure with the rest of the dough. When baked, put the second baking sheet in the oven.
